Eduardo Azofra, the company's founder, became involved in the mining industry in 2007, bringing mine owners and capital investors together. In 2014, Mr. Azofra founded Peru Managanese Corp S.A.C. in Lima with the objective of producing quality manganese ore for export to manufacturers primarily in the United States.
Peru Manganese Corporation, SAC, is registered in Peru, and has offices located in Lima and Miami, Florida.

Peru is a country with a long standing mining tradition. Due to its location and the presence of the Andes Mountain Chain, there are vast amounts of natural resources, both metallic and non-metallic.
The metallic resources include, gold, silver, iron ore, copper, and manganese, while the non-metallic resources include barite, borate, travertine, and feldspar. In 2003, the mining of metals became Peru's leading industry, accounting for US $4.6 billion of its US $9 billion export revenue that year.
